Apostle Linda Knight was born on Wednesday, May 23, 1951, to her parents, the late Nathaniel Mans and the late Essie Mae Patterson. Apostle Knight was the eldest of six children by her mother. She was raised by her late grandmother, Lennie Bell-Spikes, in the city of East Dublin, Georgia. She was educated in the Dublin City Schools and graduated from Oconee High in the Class of 1969. She had a long career as a seamstress until her health would not allow her to continue.

Apostle Knight just celebrated 33 years as a highly favored preacher and teacher of God's word. Apostle Knight was ordained as a full-time pastor under the leadership of her late pastor, Dr. Catherine Bond-Heidt in November of 1988. She co-founded and pastored Jordan Redeemer H.O.D. church. After the passing of her Pastor in 2012, Apostle Knight was handed her Pastor's mantle by becoming the Overseer of the following: 2 churches in Philadelphia, 1 church in Delaware, and 1 church in Coral, Florida. Through her tireless works, many families were restored, bodies were healed, and lives were won to the Glory of God. She enjoyed praising and worshipping God. She loved preaching and teaching the Word and witnessing to the people with whom she came into contact. If anyone needed prayer and called upon her, she was willing to pray, listen, counsel, talk, and encourage. Apostle Knight loved unconditionally - her family, church family/members, friends, co-laborers in the Gospel, and anyone with whom she came in contact. Her love was not just limited to family, but it was shared throughout her community. Her realness really spoke volumes wherever she went, which caused her to gain so much respect from everyone. She was straightforward with everyone and always remained the same. This character trait resulted in her often being highly regarded as " ... she never changed - she was always the same wherever you saw her."

Apostle Knight passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at her home with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her father, Nathaniel Mans; her mother, Essie Mae Patterson; grandmothers, Lennie Bell-Spikes and Nina Mae Mans; her daughter, Pamela Michelle Mans; granddaughter, Yolonda Monta' Mans; her brother, Larry Mans; and by her sister, Janice Green.

She leaves to cherish her fondest memories her three daughters, Cassandra Mans, East Dublin, Rhonda Samples, Savannah, and Sharon Knight, East Dublin, ; grandchildren, Jwoski Mans, Olivia Mans, Torrence Mans, Terrence Mans, all of East Dublin, Sha'Quille Mans, Atlanta, Kiara Knight, Dublin, and Joy'Nika Knight, East Dublin; great-grandchildren, Devonta Flournoy, Louisville, Ty'Kivese Knight, Smithville, Alabama, J' Quan Knight, East Dublin, Jo'Niya Jordan and Jwoski Mans, Jr., East Dublin; brothers, Curtis Johnson, Savannah, Christopher Johnson, Dublin; sister, Valencia Courtney, Colorado Springs, Colorado; father-in-law, Oscar T. Knight, East Dublin; close-knit cousins that are like sisters to her, Dena Hubbard, Linnie Turner, and Mary Hilda Jackson, East Dublin; godson, Kerry Smith, Dublin; loyal and devoted church family; faithful Assistant Pastor, Prophetess Tracie Holliman, a host of nieces and nephews, other family members and very dear friends, too many to name, but all loved the same.

Mark. Is. Always. Up to something! Right? He was born that way. On Tuesday, September 1, 1970, Mark Darnell Wallace knocked on his mama's belly, ready to come into the world. Just two and a half hours later, Mark was born at Hutzel Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and he became the second son of Brenda Edmond s Wallace and Raymond Wallace. Of course, in those days, no one knew what they were having until their baby came to tell it. So, Brenda's cousin, Sampson Mans said, "Hey Cuz, if it's a boy, why don't you name him Mark?" And so it was. He became Our Mark.

Almost four years later, Mark and his brother, Tony (also known as Number One in the family), were blessed with a little sister to torture, and teach. It took years for Tammie to infiltrate the brotherhood, sort of, it happened after the too-soon loss of Brenda and Dennis' sister, Beverley. Before transitioning, she whispered to Mark, "please watch over my only son," And he did, well. The 15-year-old, Devin, made three siblings four. The tragedy made instant bonds necessary and family foundation made them seamless.

Mark was educated in several schools in the Detroit area, starting with Gesu Catholic School, where five- and six-year-old Mark and Tony traveled together, somehow getting separated on the first day of school with Tony on the city bus, Mark on the school bus, and Brenda losing her mind. Mark spent a quick blip in Southfield at Thompson Middle School (he was no good in public school), and he graduated from the Univerity of Detroit Jesuit High School in 1988.

During his K-12 education, Mark was a celebrated athlete on the football field, His drive to achieve resulted in several academic and football college scholarship offers. He landed at the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, in 1992. Of the many things Mark did and accomplished there, his initiation into the Delta Eta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity in 1989 - the baby of the line - was way at the top. Much love to Rashid, Britt, Sid, Tyron, Harlan, Fordie, Stan, and Tom. Though you are now all 8, he's not forever your 8. Mark concluded his education at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in Law.

From Tony & Bennett's time at Howard to being Tammie's roomie in her last two years at Howard, to co-conspiring with Tam to get Devin at Howard, Mark loved Washington, D.C. He was an eternal entrepreneur and later settled in D.C., permanently, to pursue a career in the I.T. Business. If you had to sum Mark up in one word it would be "Giver." When there was a need he would do anything in his power to satisfy it - or he would find a way to power up. For Mark, the simple act of giving was a joy. Being able to give was what made him pursue his goals so fiercely.

Mark loved to travel, socialize with friends, read self-improvement and Blackity Black books, watch football and perfect the Thanksgiving turkey with Tony, find new, scientific ways to grill or smoke the best cuts of meat with Dev and Tony, tease Lonna about wasting food and being short, and immaculate conception. Mark loved his Uncle Denny and relied on him with every fiber of who he was, Mark was a family guy.

Mark would recommend the "you gotta try this" spots to everybody for food, health, and entertainment, and go obnoxiously long joke riffs with whoever could keep step. Whether it was thigh surfing with baby Asha, calling Anwar "Anweezie," or doing the Gummy BEar dance with Dylan and Drew, Mark loved his nieces and nephew. Mark LOVED his mama. BLEW was his entire heart and of all the reasons he wanted the world, it was to give it to her.

Mark also loved the ladies.

He sent a message to us to say that he loved deeply, every time he loved. He was easy and he was tough, but he always intended well. Through all the triumphs and regrets, it was real. Know that. Plus, this is the only place he can get away with saying this in public to all his eras of honey without anybody being able to say anything. Mark didn't miss opportunities.

He was known for engaging in nimble political debate, wearing a college hoodie unique and some one-of-a-kind Adidas or breaking down football stats in a bespoke 2-piece and some Ferragamo's. Mark always made a statement. So, what is he saying now to us as we grieve deeply and yearn for one more laugh?

I rushed into this world. and rushed through it, because my spirit knew I would be rushing out. But, I'm good. I'm good.

Mark leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Brenda L. Travis (John); his father. Raymond L. Wallace, his two brothers, Anthony D. Wallace and Devin C. Edmonds (Lonna); sister Tammie Wallace, three nieces, and one nephew, Asha and Anwar Green, Dylan and Drew Edmonds. His dear Uncle Dennis Edmonds; His children Brandy, Crystal, Dennis II, and their children; also many cousins, fraternity brothers, family, and friends.

Walter Jones, Jr, was born on March 15, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Walter was the oldest of three children born to the late Walter Jones, Sr. and the late Rubye Edmonds Jones. Walter and his two sisters, Elaine and Darlene, enjoyed a happy childhood in their West Philadelphia neighborhood. Walter was a cub and boy scout, and loved playing sports and games, particularly baseball and softball. Walter's father died when he was 15 years old, and in an effort to share the burden of family expenses, Walter got his first job at a butcher shop when he was still in high school. Not only did Walter earn spending money, he developed a lifelong interest in cooking.

After making hisway through Philadelphia public school system at James Rhodes Elementary School, Vare Junior High School, and Overbrook High School, Walter head to college at Penn State University. He was an active and engaged college student. One of the highlights of Walter's college years was his affiliation with Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, Inc., an organization committed to promoting fellowship, community service and positive images of Black men. The organization suited Walter's sense of friendship and cultural pride, values that Walter would carry with him throughout his life. He and his "Arrogant 8" line brothers were enthusiastic party-going Groovers.

Walter began his professional career as a heavy equipment operator at Philadelphia State Hospital. In 1976, Walter shifted his career goals to focus on helping persons suffering with serious mental illness and joined the staff at Norristown State Hospital . In 1994, Walter graduated from Temple University's radiology technology program and took on a second job as a portable X-ray technician. Walter enjoyed a long and rewarding career at Norristown State Hospital. In 2016, after 40 years of dedicated service, he retired from his position as a Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor.

Walter's life orbited around family. In 1985, Walter met Taryn Mason, the lovely woman who would become his best friend and life partner. A twinkle started at a party. Walter bought Taryn a beautiful dress and taught her to dance. Six years and may dances later, Walter and Taryn were married on May 19, 1991. The handsome couple created a beautiful blended family that included Walter's daughter Shimere and Taryn's two sons, Irvin and Tivon. Walter was a devoted husband, an involved and engaged dad to their three children, and a doting grandfather affectionately called Babu.

Walter was a man of great faith whose journey with God began at an early age. Along with his parents and sisters, Walter attended Bibleway Apostolic Church and he was baptized at age 13. As an adult, Walter joined Siloam Baptist Church in Norristown, Pennsylvania and hit the ground running. Walter sang on the Male Chorus and was a member of the Property Committee, the Men;s Sunday Bible Study, and served as a Financial Counter. Taryn joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in 2011 and Walter enjoyed dual membership. He attended Bethlehem's weekly Bible study and Men's Fellowship.

With an engaging personality and wonderful sense of humor, Walter brought life to any gathering. And he took great pride in African American cultural traditions. He loved jazz, gospel, and house full of family, close friends and good food. Walter traveled with his family in the United States to teach them how to enjoy life and culture. Walter and Taryn traveled to Ghana, Senegal, the Ivory Coast, and destinations throughout the Caribbean. Walter was an impeccable dresser whose debonair style and polish reflected his strong sense of self-respect. He was also an avid collector of Negro League baseball memorabilia.

Walter's passion for baseball and softball began to take shape when he was a young boy. In grade school, Walter played baseball with the Jayhawks and was a part of both the Overbrook High School and Penn State baseball teams. Throughout adulthood, Walter played softball with three community teams, the Dirty Nine, the Hac's Pac, and the Bounty Hunters. He also was a standout player on the Norristown State Hospital softball team.

Walter departed this life on November 13, 2018, but not before showing us his true measure of a man. Walter was kind, gentle, intelligent, and selfless. He was a husband and provider, a present and engaged father and grandfather a devoted son and brother, and a loyal friend. Throughout Walter's life, he was affectionately known as Junie, June Bug, Doc, and Blue Kangaroo. Theses names reflect the love and admiration of a vast and loving family and community that include: Walter's devoted wife, Taryn Mason Jones; children, Shimere Barbara Hakimah Cutler Jones, Irvin H. Chavous and Tivon M. Chavous; six grandchildren Damadia Moody, Mya Brown, Saanai Kaori Jones, JayDen Chavous Tickner, Irvin H. Chavous IV, and Rylee Chavous; two sisters Elaine (Wynnfield) Smith and Darlene (Harvey) Parham; parents-in-law, Charles and Henrietta Mason; one brother-in-law, Cahrles (Jacquelyn) Mason; one aunt and uncle, Mary and Titus Edmonds; two special Groove Phi Groove brothers, Eugene Thompson and Otto Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Margretta Anise Hamilton Cooper entered into eternal rest at 12:27 PM, on January 11,2018. "Gretta" as she was so fondly called was born January 28, 1967 and was the third child born to her deceased parents - Arthur James Hamilton and Larida Jackson Hamilton. Margretta was reared by a loving family and lived in Miami until she met and married the love of her life, Dexter Cooper on February 22, 2003.

Margretta accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. As a young adult, she later moved her church membership to the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Carol City, Florida. Margretta was a faithful servant in both church until she relocated to Tampa, Florida where she became a vibrant member of Bible-Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace, Florida. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, a choir member, the keeper of the church's bookstore; while spending a number of years collecting and delivering food as a part of her church outreach ministry at Bible-Based until she was overtaken with her illness.

Margretta attended public schools in Miami Dade County Florida and was a member of the graduating class of 1985 of North Miami Beach Senior High School. She worked in several capacities before moving to Tampa. Her last place of employment was with the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company where she was employed for a number of years and developed some strong friendships and moved up the ladder due to her strong work ethics.

Margretta was not a flamboyant soul, but rather a gentle, giving and considerate soul. She shied away from controversy and was a calming source of inspiration to her family, friends, associates and indeed everyone that she met.

Margretta leaves to carry on her legacy, her husband Dexter Cooper; siblings, Irving (Melody); Arthur (Minyon); Byron (Sharie); Gordon, and Xiomara (Darius) Her memory will also be cherished by her aunts Anna E. Jackson and Estella Parrott; her mother-in-law, Royce Cooper; sister-in-law Regina Roman; brother-in-law Darius Cooper (Winda); and godchildren. Margretta was the favorite auntie of 19 nieces and nephews; great auntie to 11 and has numerous cousins. She will be especially missed by her partner in crime Benjamin H. Parrott, senior Pastor Teacher at Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, who is the last of the cousin trio (Alicia Parrott, Margretta Cooper and Benjamin Parrott) born in 1967. It is worth noting that her Grandmother, the late Ruby Parrott transitioned on Gretta's birthday in 2016. Last not least, Margretta's memory will be cherished by many friends and acquaintances especially by Meghan, Laurie and Dontavius, whom she guided through their growing up years; and her dearest friends Cynthia Johnson-Williams; Andrea Murray and her godmother, Mrs. Sylvia Johnson.

Margretta loved life, people,

but more importantly her God.

Rest in Peace Our Love

One hundred one years ago on November 14, 1914, Shed and Luella Edmond were blessed with the birth of their sixth child whom they named RUBY EDMOND. This infant grew into a young adult in Dublin, Georgia until she met and married Gordon Jackson from the next county over. They moved to Miami, Florida and from this union, she bore two children. She became a single woman, left to rear her first two children until she met and married Herbert Parrott who preceded her in death. From this Union, she bore four more children. “Mother” as she was lovingly called by her children, grand children, great grandchildren, and even strangers, was a God fearing, hard working woman who always put her family first.

She loved the Lord and her church. Her first church membership was with Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Overtown under the pastorage of the late Reverend S.A. Thomas. She later joined Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of the late Reverend J.N. Byrd. She moved her membership to Christian Fellowship MBC when it was organized 48 years ago. She served faithfully under the late Reverend P.S. Brown, C. Felder, and Charles Coleman. She proudly watched her grandson whom she raised take over the leadership at Christian Fellowship four (4) years ago. When it became too difficult for her to travel by car-she would always look for the SST VAN to come and transport her to church.

Mother was a faithful Eastern Star member until her health interfered. She led the Willing Workers’ auxiliary at Christian Fellowship for a number of years. You could often find Mother under the tree that used to be on the corner of this church selling her Bar-B-Que and soul food meals to support her church. Oh, how her older kids dreaded Friday’s because we had to help Mother prepare for her Saturday sales. She was having it no other way! Once she stopped her dinner sales, she did not lower her support of her church.

Mother would give the last in her wallet for her church. She never used the excuse that she did not have because she was confident in the fact that: “The Lord would make a way somehow,” and he did because Mother made it in spite of being born with a physical handicap; in spite of having to be a single parent for multiple years, in spite of having had only an eighth grade education; in spite of having her first home foreclosed on for the lack of $100; in spite of having to step in and raise grandchildren from teenage parents; in spite of having to bury four of her children and three of her grandchildren. Mother never suffered because she was a God fearing solider who strongly instilled the love of God in her children.

MOTHER WAS A STRONG WOMAN WHO HAS LEFT STRONG SEEDLINGS TO CARRY ON HER LEGACY. She leaves to celebrate her life daughters: Anna Jackson and Estella Parrott; Grand children: Reverend Benjamin Parrott (Lawana); Deacon Irving Jackson (Melody); Arthur Hamilton (Minyon); Byron Haugabook (Sharie); Gordon Haugabook, Margretta Cooper (Dexter); Xiomara Hamilton; Laurie Jackson; Meghan Jackson; Arthur McKinney (Angela); Jerold Parrott; Darnetia Parrott; Danica Parrott; one daughter-in-law Deborah Parrott. She was preseded in death by her son Jimmie Parrott; daughter-Larida Hamilton; daughter-Athalie Parrott; her son-Tyrone Parrott; granddaughter-Alicia Parrott; granddaughter-Eleanise Hamilton; grandson-Arick Parrott. She also leaves 25 great grand children and 8 great-great grand children along with many other friends, a loving church body, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A very special person named Patricia who served Mother with tender loving care in her final days and the family is eternally grateful to this special angel.

Mother is at peace in the arms of a loving God who saw her labor down here complete.
