J.D. Edmond, was born May 24, 1938 in Laurens Couty, Dublin, Georgia. He was the fifth child born to the union of Willie Bell and Oliver Edmond Sr.

He moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1956, he later became a Crane operator in the construction business for thirty-seven years.

At an early age, he became a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Dublin, Georgia.

He departed this life on Tuesday, July 11, 1995. He leaves to mourn in passin, a beloved wife and friend Irene; his children, Charles Edmond, Rosette Dupree, Averstee Edmond, Deon Edmond and Frank Edmond; six step-children, Nathenial Waller, Eugene Waller, Christine Hayes, Courtney Waller, Derrick Ballard and Ivory Ballard; eighteen grandchildren; seven sisters, Rosa Mae Harris, Marie Thomas, Dorothy Stevend and Eva Mae Guyton from Dublin, Georgia, Annie Bell Story, Ethel Mae Hightower and Ella Mae Holliman of Kississimme, Florida; three brothers, J.B. Edmond of Dublin, Georgia. Thomas Edmond and Oliver Edmond, Jr., of Detroit, Michigan; four daughters-in-law; two sons-in-law; two sisters-in-law; a dear friend, James Danielly; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
